Fundamentals of the theory of literature
The first thing to learn about the basics of literary theory is what literature itself is in General. Literature (Latin litteratura-written) is a set of speech structures captured in oral and written form (literature and writing); that is, literature is a note on the refrigerator about cutlets on the stove, and a folklore proverb passed from mouth to mouth, as well as any epic or novel that occupies hundreds of printed pages. Literary genre
Literary genre – historically and culturally developed typology (not to be confused with “typification”) of works, carried out within genera and species, respectively literary, according to a complex system of formal and substantive features. In General, genre as a category is inherent in the typology of almost any art, and not only artistic literary studies. Methods of studying literature
One of the key tasks of literature theory is to define and construct a methodology for the study of literature as a phenomenon and object of interest in literary studies; therefore, it is time to start considering methods of studying literature. These methods, which are principles, methods and techniques in the study of their actual subject, are determined by the latter, in the case of each method its own (but not exclusively).Therefore, when talking about the method of studying literature, both in its totality and when considering a particular method, it should be remembered its connection with its research subject.
